Itinerary 

Day 1 : Sapa – Dragon Jaw – Hang Da – Hau Chu Ngai – Giang Ta Chai – Homestay ( ~ 12km )

At 9:00 AM, our local guide will pick you up from your hotel in Sapa town center or meet you at the iconic Sapa Stone Church. Before setting off, your guide will give a short briefing about the trekking route and the day’s highlights.

Your adventure begins with a gentle walk from Sapa along a small trail winding through corn fields, leading you up to Dragon Jaw Mountain. Standing at approximately 1,970 meters above sea level, this viewpoint offers spectacular panoramic views over Sapa town, the vast Muong Hoa Valley, and Fansipan Mountain — the roof of Indochina.

With favorable weather, you may witness a magical sea of clouds drifting across the valley below. Continuing along a narrow hidden trail that resembles the spine of a dinosaur, you’ll feel fully immersed in nature, surrounded by dramatic landscapes and fresh mountain air.

Along the way, you’ll often encounter local animals such as buffaloes, cows, and pigs, as this area feels like a natural open-air farm. These moments offer wonderful opportunities for memorable photos.

After soaking in the stunning scenery, the trek descends along the mountainside to Hang Da Village, home to the Black Hmong ethnic minority. Here, you’ll take a well-earned rest and enjoy a delicious local lunch.

In the afternoon, the journey continues through Hau Chu Ngai and Ban Pho villages, following beautiful village paths and passing through peaceful bamboo forests that gently revive your energy. Around 3:00–4:00 PM, you’ll arrive at a traditional Hmong homestay, where your host family welcomes you with warm smiles and cups of hot tea.

After checking into your room and enjoying a refreshing shower, you can relax and soak in the tranquil atmosphere of village life. In the evening, from 6:30 to 7:30 PM, you’ll share a cozy dinner with the local family, enjoying home-cooked dishes and authentic cultural moments — a perfect end to a rewarding day of trekking.

Day 2 : Homestay ( Giang Ta Chai ) – Ta Van – Lao Chai – Sapa ( ~10 km )

Begin your morning with a freshly brewed cup of coffee while admiring the sweeping views of endless terraced rice fields stretching across the valley. After breakfast, take time to pack up and say goodbye to your warm and welcoming host family.

Leaving the homestay, continue your trek along a peaceful, almost mystical trail that winds through a tranquil bamboo forest. As sunlight filters through the tall bamboo, you’ll enjoy serene glimpses of the village nestled below. Emerging from the forest, you’ll arrive at Ta Van Village, home to the Black Hmong and Giay ethnic groups. Here, your guide will introduce you to the unique cultural characteristics and daily life of each community.

Ta Van is renowned for its breathtaking terraced rice fields set within the heart of Muong Hoa Valley, making it one of the most picturesque and beloved trekking areas in Sapa. From here, continue on to Lao Chai Village, famous for its dramatic rice terraces and vibrant Black Hmong culture.

In Lao Chai, take time to experience local life more closely as you explore traditional houses and observe everyday village activities. Enjoy an authentic lunch at a local restaurant, where you can savor both traditional flavors and the stunning surrounding scenery.

After lunch, a vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to Sapa town or directly to your hotel, marking the end of a memorable trekking journey through Sapa’s cultural and natural landscapes.

At 9:00 AM, your adventure begins as our friendly local guide picks you up from your hotel in central Sapa or meets you at the iconic Sapa Church. After a warm welcome and a short briefing about the day’s itinerary, you’ll set off from Sapa town center, following scenic local trails that wind through vibrant vegetable gardens and a serene bamboo forest. After approximately three kilometers of walking, you’ll reach the Muong Hoa River, flowing gently through the heart of the valley and framed by sweeping mountain views.

Continuing deeper into the countryside, the trail leads you to Y Linh Ho Village, a peaceful place known for its fresh mountain air and unspoiled natural beauty. Here, you’ll trek through lush green forests and expansive terraced rice fields, where every bend in the path reveals a new and captivating perspective of the surrounding landscape. Walking along narrow paths between rice terraces, you’ll arrive at Lao Chai Village, home to the Black H’Mong people. This village offers an intimate glimpse into traditional mountain life, where you can visit local houses, interact with villagers, and observe traditional H’Mong textile practices such as cloth flattening and indigo dyeing—skills passed down through generations.

Around 12:30 PM, enjoy a well-deserved lunch at a charming, family-run restaurant operated by Black H’Mong locals, set beside a gentle stream. As you savor authentic local dishes, the soothing sounds of nature and spectacular scenery provide the perfect moment to relax and recharge. After lunch, the trek continues along a picturesque path through rice fields and alongside the Muong Hoa Stream toward Ta Van Village. Ta Van captivates visitors with its rolling terraces and the unique blend of cultures of the Zay, H’Mong, and Red Dao communities. Along this stretch, you’ll be treated to magnificent views of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range and have the opportunity to engage with friendly local residents in their peaceful rural surroundings.

Your visit to Ta Van concludes between 2:00 and 3:00 PM, after which you’ll be transferred back to your hotel or central Sapa, with the tour ending around 3:00 PM. After a warm greeting, the guide will provide a clear overview of the day’s schedule and share essential details to ensure you’re fully prepared for the trek ahead.

We’ll commence our journey from Sapa, stepping onto a narrow trail that gently meanders through verdant cornfields and open landscapes. The path gradually ascends toward Dragon Jaw Peak, a majestic viewpoint rising 1,900 meters above sea level. After approximately 1.5 hours of trekking, you will reach this breathtaking peak, where sweeping panoramic views of Sapa town and the picturesque Muong Hoa Valley unfold before you, showcasing the region’s remarkable natural beauty.

Dragon Jaw Peak offers a harmonious connection with nature as you traverse the elevated trails. These paths wind through small forests and rolling hills, providing a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. On clear days, the silhouette of Fansipan Peak, the highest mountain in Indochina, may appear on the horizon. When conditions are just right, a magnificent sea of clouds can blanket the landscape below, adding a truly mystical touch to the experience.

After taking in the awe-inspiring views and capturing memorable photographs, we resume our trek along a unique path often compared to a dinosaur’s spine, leading us toward Hang Da village. Nestled in the heart of the Black H’mong community, this village offers an authentic glimpse into traditional highland life. As we descend, you may encounter local wildlife such as buffaloes, cows, horses, and pigs, adding a genuine rural charm to the journey.

Arriving in Hang Da village presents the perfect opportunity to enjoy a leisurely local lunch, featuring traditional dishes that highlight the region’s culinary heritage. You’ll have about an hour to relax, unwind, and savor the distinctive flavors and aromas of Sapa’s cuisine.

After lunch, our adventure continues toward Hau Chu Ngai village, where we follow a serene trail winding through a cool and tranquil bamboo forest. The gentle sounds of chirping birds and flowing streams create a calming atmosphere, offering a refreshing escape from the modern world. The untouched beauty of the bamboo forest allows you to feel fully immersed in nature.

Upon reaching Giang Ta Chai village, you’ll be introduced to the vibrant daily life of the Black Hmong and Red Dao communities. This visit provides a meaningful opportunity to observe local traditions and daily activities, marking the final highlight of our trekking program for the day.

As the day draws to a close, we return to Sapa town or your hotel by car (approximately 2:30–3:30 PM). This concludes a memorable and enriching day of exploration, filled with stunning landscapes, cultural encounters, and a deep connection with the natural world.
