Itinerary
Day 1 : Sapa – Dragon Jaw – Hang Da – Hau Chu Ngai – Giang Ta Chai – Homestay ( ~ 12km )
At 9:00 AM, our local guide will pick you up from your hotel in Sapa town center or meet you at the iconic Sapa Stone Church. Before setting off, your guide will give a short briefing about the trekking route and the day’s highlights.
Your adventure begins with a gentle walk from Sapa along a small trail winding through corn fields, leading you up to Dragon Jaw Mountain. Standing at approximately 1,970 meters above sea level, this viewpoint offers spectacular panoramic views over Sapa town, the vast Muong Hoa Valley, and Fansipan Mountain — the roof of Indochina.
With favorable weather, you may witness a magical sea of clouds drifting across the valley below. Continuing along a narrow hidden trail that resembles the spine of a dinosaur, you’ll feel fully immersed in nature, surrounded by dramatic landscapes and fresh mountain air.
Along the way, you’ll often encounter local animals such as buffaloes, cows, and pigs, as this area feels like a natural open-air farm. These moments offer wonderful opportunities for memorable photos.
After soaking in the stunning scenery, the trek descends along the mountainside to Hang Da Village, home to the Black Hmong ethnic minority. Here, you’ll take a well-earned rest and enjoy a delicious local lunch.
In the afternoon, the journey continues through Hau Chu Ngai and Ban Pho villages, following beautiful village paths and passing through peaceful bamboo forests that gently revive your energy. Around 3:00–4:00 PM, you’ll arrive at a traditional Hmong homestay, where your host family welcomes you with warm smiles and cups of hot tea.
After checking into your room and enjoying a refreshing shower, you can relax and soak in the tranquil atmosphere of village life. In the evening, from 6:30 to 7:30 PM, you’ll share a cozy dinner with the local family, enjoying home-cooked dishes and authentic cultural moments — a perfect end to a rewarding day of trekking.
Day 2 : Homestay ( Giang Ta Chai ) – Ta Van – Lao Chai – Sapa ( ~10 km )
Begin your morning with a freshly brewed cup of coffee while admiring the sweeping views of endless terraced rice fields stretching across the valley. After breakfast, take time to pack up and say goodbye to your warm and welcoming host family.
Leaving the homestay, continue your trek along a peaceful, almost mystical trail that winds through a tranquil bamboo forest. As sunlight filters through the tall bamboo, you’ll enjoy serene glimpses of the village nestled below. Emerging from the forest, you’ll arrive at Ta Van Village, home to the Black Hmong and Giay ethnic groups. Here, your guide will introduce you to the unique cultural characteristics and daily life of each community.
Ta Van is renowned for its breathtaking terraced rice fields set within the heart of Muong Hoa Valley, making it one of the most picturesque and beloved trekking areas in Sapa. From here, continue on to Lao Chai Village, famous for its dramatic rice terraces and vibrant Black Hmong culture.
In Lao Chai, take time to experience local life more closely as you explore traditional houses and observe everyday village activities. Enjoy an authentic lunch at a local restaurant, where you can savor both traditional flavors and the stunning surrounding scenery.
After lunch, a vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to Sapa town or directly to your hotel, marking the end of a memorable trekking journey through Sapa’s cultural and natural landscapes.
